Aim of Establishment of the International Journal

Sir C R Reddy College which was established in 1945 is at present an Autonomous Institution, recognized as a College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) by UGC, New Delhi.  The college is located in Eluru, The District Head Quarters of West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh.

Education is for imparting wisdom and knowledge, skills and values, quality and competency in a balanced way. Wisdom and values transform unripe ego into ripe personality with effusive warmth. Thus the ultimate end of all education is to mould an individual into a career-based, self–sufficient, self–expressive and value oriented person.  Our institution is committed to such a Holistic Education.

The Institution was accredited by NAAC, Bangalore with ‘A’ grade twice in the years 2005 and 2011 and the status of Autonomy was granted for the period 2006-2018. This year we have submitted the Self Study Report for Re-Accreditation of 3rd Cycle of NAAC. Awaiting for the PEER Team visit.

This year the College is recognized as Research Centre of Adikavi Nannayya University, Rajahmundry, with the faculty of Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Telugu and Commerce and requisitions were submitted to the University for Guideship.

This year the President of our Management “Sri Kommareddy Rambabu” inaugurated “Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Central Research Laboratory to encourage the Research Culture in the college among faculty and students. Moreover, the management also sanctioned an amount of Rs. 2 Lakhs as Seed Money to encourage the Research Culture in the college among the faculty and students.

Quality in education is multi - dimensional. The aim of higher education centres is to raise its own benchmarks in academics, infrastructure, value added courses organized and extracurricular activities to improve quality education and reach the standards of international levels. Sir C R Reddy Autonomous College has got a proven track record of performance in extra-curricular, co-curricular, NSS, NCC, Social Work, Literary and Cultural Activities, Games and Sports etc. which helps in the all-round personality development of the students.

The college as a team strives to meet the Ethical and Professional standards through varied spheres of activity for quality in education.  In this the pathways are constantly redesigned, and road maps are re-charted. Our college with a rich legacy is student–centric in all its activities. The institution is striving to offer Holistic Education to the Students to enable them to face the challenges of the changing career opportunities and the Global Job Scenario.  

Faculty members are encouraged to submit research proposals to attend National / International Conferences and providing seed money, grant and other facilities to conduct National Seminars, State level Seminars, Regional Seminars and Workshops. 

Research is a significant activity of the College.  Faculty members are recognized as research guides to guide M.Phil and Ph.D Scholars. The College was recognized as Research Centre for undertaking research in Commerce, Politics, Chemistry and Physics.  Few Faculty members of the department of Politics, Department of Commerce, Department of Chemistry and Department of Physics were recognized as Research guides.  Recently, few more faculty members have applied for the Guideship from the Departments of Telugu and MBA. There are 03 research scholars working in the research centre. An amount of Rs. 1 Crore has been spent by the Management to purchase the required equipment such as Muffle Furnace, Quenching Chamber, LCR Meter for Dielectric Measurements, FTIR Spectrometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrometer, Guoy’s Balance etc.

To inculcate the sprit of scientific thinking among the faculty & the students and to enhance the Research Work in the Institution. To create a Scientific Temperament in the community by encouraging the Research Articles pertaining to fundamental Sciences as useful to the farming community, to the field of Aqua-culture and other fields that help in start-ups by the young minds.

The institution has 140 faculty members in 25 Under Graduate & Post Graduate Departments in the programmes connected with Science, Arts, Commerce and Management Studies. Our College has 35 Senior Faculty members with UGC Pay Scales and 2 Professors in the Management Studies. Among the 140 faculty members 24 are Ph.D holders and 18 are M.Phil degree holders. The faculty have successfully completed 10 Minor Research Projects of UGC and Two Major Research Projects in the last 10 years. One Major Research Project on Water Analysis in the Up-Land areas of West Godavari District funded by Department of Science & Technology (DST), New-Delhi is going on under the XII plan.

The faculty members are highly qualified and experienced in guiding the research scholars for their M.Phil and Ph.D degrees. During the period 2011 – 16 (Five Years) 11 Research Scholars got their M.Phil degree and 3 Scholars got their Ph.D degrees. Two have submitted their Thesis to the Andhra University, Visakhapatnam for the award of Ph.D degree.

Extension activities, Value added courses, Quiz Programmes, Group Discussions, Class Room seminars, e-Classroom Seminars, conducting National Seminars / State Level Seminars, participating in National and State level seminars within or outside the college, presenting papers in the National / State Level Seminars, Cultural Activities, NSS, NCC and Sports activities really stimulate the interest of the students about their studies and because of these methods we proved as the best in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

            The institute runs programmes as student centric by keeping the utility of the programme by the student. All the programmes conducted in the college such as Value added Courses, Life Skill Programmes, Workshops, Conferences, Symposia, National Seminars, State Level Seminars, College Level Seminars, Guest Lectures are advised by the Research Committee. The management also involve in all the programmes for the maximum utilization of every programme by student community. Dr. K A Emmanuel is the Joint Secretary of Indian Council of Chemists, which is a reputed National Organization. Dr. P Paul Diwakar, Associate Professor, Department of Physics is Life Member of Indian Science Congress; and Member of AIRAPT (France). Dr. A. Veerabhadra Rao, associate Professorin Physics is a peer reviewer of Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids which is an Elsevier Publication. Dr. C Ravi, Associate Professor in Geology is Fellow of Geological Society of India, Bangalore since 2008. Sri P C Swaroop, Associate Professor in Geology is Fellow of Geological Society of India, Bangalore since 1989. He is also Fellow of Indian Society of Applied Geochemists (ISAG), Hyderabad since 2006. He is Mentor in Earth Sciences, Innovation in Science pursuit for inspired Research (INSPIRE), Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi since 2012. Dr. N V V S Prasad, Associate Professor in Chemistry is the Principal Investigator of the on going Major Research Project funded by DST, New-Delhi.

A Solar power plant of 30 KW is operating for the supply of current and 60 KW Solar Plant is under progress. We have well established Library with INFLIBNET and subscription to nearly 150 print & e-journals in the Ug & PG Libraries. A COMPRONET Centre with 60 mbps gives access to the e-journals etc. Consultancy is offered in the fields of Water Analysis, Quality in Higher Education through IQAC, High School Education, Mushroom & Azolla Cultivation, Vermi Compost, Ground Water Exploration, Accounting & Auditing Practices etc.

Students have exposure as volunteers in the rural activities through National Service scheme, NCC, Swachh Bharath Activities etc. The Socio-Economic Data collected in the rural camps, the Field Trips & Industrial Tours help the students to prepare Study Projects and in conducting surveys. This brings in an analytical bent of mind which helps the students in the progression of their career.

We have e-classrooms with smart board facilities and access to open educational resources. The institute is offering courses from Plus Two stage to PG level  with a facility to pursue higher studies in the field of Research.

In-house Research is encouraged through the Seed Money by accepting Research Projects of the faculty and the students after due scrutiny of the proposals by the Research Committee of the institution. Six research projects by the faculty and three research projects by the students have commenced in November, 2016 with the help of the Seed Money.

Our college established in 1945 has eight other sister institutions catering to Teacher Education, Engineering Courses, Pharmacy etc., managed by the Sir C R Reddy Educational Institutions. The institution has linkages with the different departments of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam; Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry; Krishna University, Machilipatnam; Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur; AU PG Center, TP Gudem; Govt. PG Centre, Nuzvid; Dravidian University, Kuppam; Sri Yogi Vemana University, Cudappa; University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad; Osmania University, Hyderabad; Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi etc. The college has organized 21 National Seminars, Conferences and Workshops in the last five years. The faculty have submitted nearly 800 papers in National & International seminars. The faculty have published 275 Research Papers in National & International journals during the last five years. 15 of the faculty members are University Nominees as subject experts in Board of Studies, Academic Council of other Autonomous Colleges and the Affiliating University.  26 Life Skill Programmes, 55 Value Added Courses, 83 Field Trips 7 204 Guest Lectures were conducted in the last five years for the benefit of the students. 60 students have presented papers in the National & International seminars.

Our students cleared NET, SLET, UPSC - Geolgist Exams, JRF and Group Service Examinations. Institution is offering coaching for “Entry into Services” and coaching to the UG students to appear in the Common Entrance Test for the PG Courses. 60 Eminent Professors and Scientists of National & International repute have visited the institution as Resource Persons in different Academic Programmes.

The college has undergone MOU with 20 companies/institutes for placements and to get training for the students to prepare their study projects. Also the college and company/institute have an understanding to share the knowledge.

The MOUs have helped us in conducting Campus interviews, arranging career guidance programmes, in-house training & to pursue Study Projects. The MOUs with the Academic Institutes, Industries, Pharma Companies, Software Companies, ICAR-Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research have helped in the broadening of the horizons of knowledge among the faculty & the Students.

 Quality is the benchmark of our institution having a few innovative and best practices and research culture is a part of our institution. Apart form the well qualified faculty we have the guidance from well known academicians who will be in our Advisory Board. The Sir C R R Research International Journal will be bi-annual having articles or Original Research Papers which will be published after due scrutiny by the Peer Reviewers of our journal.  Plagiarism in any form will be curtailed by tacking maximum care of scrutiny including the use of checking Software. Speed Track issue will be brought out in case of large number of Research Articles or Papers in a particular period.

Sir C R Reddy Educational Institutions employ around 1200 staff with faculty strength of 500 who are well qualified, experienced offering their expertise to other Academic Institutions, Government Bodies in different fields of knowledge. By virtue of the linkages, MOUs, Academic Programmes with Reputed Resource Persons, Access to different Universities, Research Organizations, National Institutes like NIT, IIIT – located nearby, a cooperative Alumni Association, Well settled Pool of Scientists from the alumni and pro-active management enables us to accept quality articles from diversified fields of knowledge. The Journal will publish articles from various fields of knowledge with subject index in alphabetical order. References and Bibliography will accompany the articles. Abstract of each article with keywords will be given along with submission of the full length paper.

The Journal is administered by an honorary board President, Sri Kommareddy Rambabu; Secretary, Sri N V K Durga Rao and Chief Adviser Sri U S Ramprasad. The Principal of the college is the Chairman of the Journal. Sri P C Swaroop is the Chief Editor and Dr. A. Veerabhadra Rao is the Editor of the Journal. The Editor for the Speed Track Issue is Dr. K A Emmanuel. Dr. K A Rama raju, Dr. P Paul Diwakar are the Associate Editors of the Journal.
